The Yard-Man Cometh

As you can see, Dad finally invested in a new Yard-Man mulching lawnmower! He claims he chose this one because he liked the Honda engine, but I think the green and gold color scheme might have had something to do with it too ;)


You can also see that this was no frivolous purchase .... we REALLY needed a new lawnmower. Dad inherited the old Toro from his Grandma when it was already 20 years old and he kept it going for another 15 years, but it barely made it through last season. Technically, it still works - if you know how to tweak the broken carburetor cable just so, and have really strong arms for pulling the starter cord - but there comes a time when it's just not worth fixing something anymore.

I'm so happy I could just roll around in the grass!


After the snowstorms we had on Monday and Wednesday last week, it sure was nice to see it warm up into the 50s on Saturday.


Dad took the opportunity to clean the gas grill. He's used it a LOT over the past year so it was really full of gunk. As usual, I just hung around supervising the whole operation!
