A Dog's Blog

In this day and age when everyone and their dog has a blog, I decided it was time for Rosie to have one of her own. She's the supervisor on all of our yard and home improvement projects, so I'll give you all the updates from her point of view!

The Second Annual Neighborhood Fish Fry

This was something started last year when Steve, Maurie and Doug found themselves with a lot of extra fish in their freezers. They all caught plenty of fish again this year, and since everyone had such a great time at the party last year they decided to make it an annual event!

Steve dons the gloves for the messy part of dipping the fish in the breading mix.

Steve and Maurie are the chief fry cooks for this operation. My dad doesn't fish at all, but he makes sure the beer coolers are stocked!

For those who prefer something a little fruitier, Shari and Cindy mix up a big batch of wapatuli. The Urban Dictionary says this is a Midwest thing ..... but it also says it's a college party tradition. Haha! As if we needed more proof that some people never truly grow up.

Of course the evening ends with a bonfire, another Midwest outdoor party requirement!

Fun for all ages!

Cindy O. showing off her new grandson Jake at baby's first fish fry.

Cindy P. and her granddaughter Ashlyn, who was about Jake's age last year when she attended her first fish fry!

Haley was making out like a bandit following Ashlyn and her big brother Cole around all day.

Another score!!!!

A Plethora of Produce

This is just the beginning of what looks to be a bumper crop from the salsa garden this year!
